About me
Welcome to Erin Butler Psychology, where I can support you to move toward better mental health and wellbeing.
I understand how living with trauma can feel like the symptoms can take over your life. We can work together to leave the past where it belongs and live in the here and now.
In the perimenopausal transition it is common for old trauma to resurface, along with the many other symptoms that occur with this life stage.
I am a clinical psychologist with a passion for working with adults. I take a holistic approach, recognising each person’s unique qualities as well as the link between mind and body. I have a warm and direct approach and use humour where appropriate. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental space where people feel comfortable discussing their concerns; and to collaborate with them to achieve their goals.
I encourage you to get in touch with me for any questions you may have, or to see if we will be a good fit for each other.

Qualifications
I completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from Deakin University and my Clinical Master's program at Swinburne University.
Since I've been in Sydney I have worked with a range of people and programs before moving into private practice and opening my own business.
I have completed training in trauma treatment, specifically Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Imagery Rescripting, Prolonged Exposure, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural therapy.
I also work with a range of other presentations, including anxiety, depression, self-esteem and interpersonal difficulties.
I integrate different theoretical frameworks including attachment theory, strengths-based, positive psychology, mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Polyvagal Theory and Mindfulness.
I have also completed the Menopause-Informed CBT program from the Menopause CBT Clinic. This program outlines a holistic way to support women with the menopause transition, looking at all factors that may impact you while in this period. Support is provided around autonomic regulation, mind and mindset, finding passion and purpose, emotional resilience, relationships and connection, and behavioural change techniques.
I love pets and have a cat at home, one day I will get another dog. I'm trying to find more time for yoga and strength training in my busy schedule.
I'm so glad you are here, and I hope to hear from you soon.
