About

Welcome to Erin Butler Psychology, where I can support you to move toward better mental health and wellbeing.

I understand how living with stress and trauma can feel like the symptoms can take over your life. We can work together to leave the past where is belongs, and live in the here and now.

I am a clinical psychologist with a passion for working with adults. I take a holistic approach, recognising each person’s unique qualities as well as the link between mind and body. I have a warm and direct approach, and use humour where appropriate. I strive to create a warm, non-judgmental space where people feel comfortable discussing their concerns; and to collaborate with them to achieve their goals.

I encourage you to get in touch with me for any questions you may have, or to see if we will be a good fit for each other.

Qualifications

I completed a Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) from Deakin University in Melbourne, where I am originally from. I continued my study at Swinburne University, where I competed my Clinical Masters program, and have since completed my clinical psychology registrar program in Sydney, where I completed two years of practice with intensive supervision and a high level of professional development.

Since I've been in Sydney I have worked with a range of people and programs before moving into private practice, and now opening my own business.

I have completed specialist training in trauma treatment, specifically Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Prolonged Exposure, and Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioural therapy. Helping people process and manage trauma is one of my passions. I also work with a range of other presentations, including anxiety, depression, OCD, relationship concerns, self-esteem and interpersonal difficulties. I integrate different theoretical frameworks including attachment theory, strengths-based, positive psychology, mindfulness, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Polyvagal Theory and Mindfulness.

I love pets, and have a dog and cat at home. I'm not perfect and I wish I made more time for yoga in my busy schedule.

I'm so glad you are here and I hope to hear from you soon.
